Rajesh Kumar Gupta

Sh. Rajesh Kumar Gupta is a seasoned infrastructure and power sector veteran with a distinguished career spanning over 40 years of exemplary service and strategic leadership. Known for his cross-functional expertise and robust project governance, Mr. Gupta has consistently delivered high-value results across complex engineering, commercial, and regulatory landscapes.

Apart from service in private firms at Uttarkashi, Rishikesh & NTPC Dadri, Mr. Gupta dedicated over 32 years of his career to SJVN Limited (formerly Nathpa Jhakri Power Corporation), rising through the ranks from Assistant Engineer in 1994 to superannuated Executive Director on March 31, 2026.

Throughout his tenure, he spearheaded critical portfolios across the lifecycle of mega-energy projects including 1500 MW underground Nathpa Jhakri Hydroelectric Project, 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Project, 50 MW Sadla Wind Project, 47.6 MW Khirwire Wind Project, 5 MW Charanka Solar Project, and expansive Rooftop Solar initiatives.
Mr.Gupta demonstrated high-level execution in underground hydro-works, field engineering, Land acquisition, Corporate Civil Contracts, Power Trading, and Business Development etc. Notably, he served on an empowered in-house committee for the Sadla Wind Project with delegated powers equivalent to the CMD, successfully driving the plant to commissioning.
His aggressive business development initiatives played an instrumental role in driving SJVN’s equity value from ₹22 to ₹170. Additionally, his astute interventions in dispute resolution and contract management saved the organization several hundred crores through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), conciliation, arbitration, and litigation management.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Mr. Gupta is deeply committed to community development and social causes, actively contributing to prominent organizations such as Sankalp, Bhartiya Dharohar, and Neh Need etc.
Bringing a wealth of strategic oversight, land acquisition mastery, and macroeconomic vision, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Gupta now joins the Board of SIPL India as Director, guiding the company toward its next phase of exponential growth.
